Young athletes showcase talent at Hill House School’s inaugural Girls’ Sport Challenge

A group of nearly 20 girls, aged nine to eleven, participated in a newly launched sporting challenge at Hill House School, demonstrating a wide array of athletic abilities across a specially designed course. Set under the floodlights on the school’s astroturf, the HYROX-style event comprised six activity stations, each inspired by a different popular sport, including netball, rugby, football and cricket. The young competitors tackled challenges ranging from scoring netball goals to throwing at cricket stumps, all while being cheered on by supportive families and friends. The event aimed to encourage participation in girls’ sport across Doncaster and the wider area. Mrs Katie Vickers, Director of Sport at Hill House School, highlighted the determination and community spirit shown throughout the evening. She said: “All of the girls competing tonight gave 100% effort, and it was fantastic to see the support from family and friends. It was a pleasure to host this wonderful event. Hill House is a trailblazer for girls’ sport, and we wanted to create something that truly supports the growth of women’s sport in Doncaster and the wider region.” All participants received a Hill House School Gift Bag, while the top three finishers, Cece Fairhurst, Belle Richardson and Lilly Duffty, were awarded sports vouchers. Hill House School, based in Auckley, Doncaster, is known for its strong academic standards and support for sporting
